Wine Merchant Top 100 2016: 15 Hallgarten Wines Make The Cut
The results of the annual Wine Merchant Top 100 competition have been announced and Hallgarten has an impressive 15 wines in the Top 100.
The competition is devoted to wines in the independent trade and is judged entirely by specialist independent wine retailers.
Following last year’s success - when Hallgarten had 9 wines in the Top 100 and 7 wines in the Highly Commended category - we have done even better in 2016 with 15 Top 100 winners and 18 Highly Commended wines.
In addition to this, the Omaka Reserve Chardonnay, 2014 from Saint Clair won the White Wine Trophy, awarded to the best white wine in the Top 100. This means that Hallgarten retains the White Wine Trophy, which was awarded to Gaia Wines in 2015 for its Wild Ferment Assyrtiko.
The full list of the 15 winning wines is below. All 15 wines will be show at this week’s London Wine Fair on the Wine Merchant’s stand (B30). Do go and try them.
