Hallgarten & Novum Wines takes on full distribution of Wiston Estate
Specialist wine importer, Hallgarten & Novum Wines, has today announced it will exclusively manage the UK trade distribution of award-winning English sparkling wine producer, Wiston Estate Winery. The wines will be available to the UK hospitality and retail sectors from 1st January 2025, and will be available to taste at Hallgarten Wines’ January Portfolio Tastings on 27th and 28th January 2025.
Wiston Estate CEO, Richard Goring, commented: “We are excited about this new partnership and impressed by everybody’s enthusiasm and dynamism at Hallgarten & Novum Wines in a challenging hospitality market. We have worked with Hallgarten Wines before on an exclusive project and are delighted to be re-joining them with our full portfolio of sparkling wines. When my parents planted the first vines in 2006 we had no idea where the endeavour would take us – and could not have envisaged the wines receiving such accolades and praise as they have done. The vineyards and wines are now a central part of Wiston Estate and key to maintaining this land for the future. We look forward to sharing them with Hallgarten’s customers at the tasting in January.”
Portfolio Director at Hallgarten & Novum Wines, Jim Wilson, commented: “The Wiston Estate’s distinctive style of English sparkling wine is one we have long admired and I am delighted to be able to welcome them into our portfolio. When we were presented with the opportunity to rekindle our relationship with the estate, it is one we could not turn down as we look to develop our range of wines to include the best-in-class from across the winemaking world.”
Situated on south-facing chalk slopes in the South Downs, Wiston Estate has been stewarded by The Goring Family since 1743. However, it wasn’t until 2006 when the family planted its 16-acre site with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay vines, producing their first vintage in 2008. Wiston Estate's sparkling wines have garnered numerous accolades, including the prestigious 'Winery of the Year' title at the 2018 WineGB Awards, an award they have gone on to win several times since.
Wiston Estate joins Hallgarten Wines’ prestigious English portfolio comprising Simpsons Wine Estate, Blackbook Winery, Coates & Seeley, Ridgeview, Hoffman & Rathbone and New Hall Estate, as the business demonstrates its ongoing commitment to supporting the sector.
