Hallgarten & Novum Wines adds Frescobaldi’s first Chianti Classico Estate to portfolio

Hallgarten & Novum Wines has announced it will distribute Frescobaldi’s first venture into the Chianti Classico region, Tenuta Perano, in the UK. The estate in the Gaiole commune of Chianti Classico was purchased by the Frescobaldi family in 2017, following three years of managing the vineyards.

Hallgarten Wines has added two wines from the estate to its portfolio; a Chianti Classico and Chianti Classico Riserva. A third wine, a Gran Selezione, will be released next spring. The estate covers 250 hectares, of which 52 are planted with vines which surround the dedicated winery. The vineyard is planted on steep slopes increasing to an altitude of 500 metres and is situated on a unique, naturally formed amphitheatre profile, which captures and amplifies the sunlight onto the vines.

Frescobaldi President, Lamberto Frescobaldi, comments; “We have been managing Tenuta Perano’s operations since early 2014 and know what amazing potential the vineyards hold. This seventh Frescobaldi estate in is one of our most significant acquisitions to date, as we look to embrace the heart of Tuscany, and the heart of Chianti Classico.”

Hallgarten & Novum Wines Portfolio Director, Jim Wilson, comments; “We are very excited to introduce this prestigious estate to our portfolio. Frescobaldi has been a significant partner of ours for a number of years and we are confident these wines will continue to showcase the incredible winemaking abilities the producer has become renowned for.”

The new additions join wines from the six other Frescobaldi estates in the Hallgarten portfolio.
