Hallgarten Wines Expands Business with over a Dozen New Recruits

We are delighted to have expanded our teams across the business with 13 new team members joining the company over the past six months. The new appointments have taken up roles in both the head office support functions and nationwide sales teams to provide an enhanced level of service to its current and new customers.

Hallgarten Wines Managing Director, Andrew Bewes, commented: “This is an extremely exciting time for Hallgarten. 2024 is shaping up to be a transformational year for the business, with new suppliers, new customers and new faces already enhancing the way we operate. We have always been known for providing exemplary service levels to our customers and we are determined to ensure we can continue to go above and beyond to make sure they always have the best wines in their range. As demand increases across the business we will continue to recruit to maintain our commitment to our customers, who remain the centre-point of our business.”

In a newly created role, William Lay joins Hallgarten as Technical Manager from Buckingham Schenk. Lay’s scope of work will help streamline the business’ management of product quality, safety, legal and authenticity requirements, ensuring each product is right for the customer.

Brand Manager, Joanna Lory, leaves Indigo Wines to help ensure Hallgarten’s growing portfolio of suppliers gains visibility across the trade, commenting: “I could not be happier to join a growing team at Hallgarten at such an exciting time for the company.”

Four Customer Service Advisors have started in Hallgarten’s head office support teams, tasked with streamlining the journey from customer order to delivery. The additional heads will supplement Hallgarten’s team of 20 to help maintain the exceptional service levels the business has become known for.

Elysia Dumpleton joins in a newly created role of HR & Payroll Manager to help manage the significant increase in company headcount.

Notable appointments in the sales teams include Julian Adcock, who has taken up the role of Head of Channel, National HoReCa, after spending the previous 22 years at Bibendum where he held positions including Director of Sales - National Accounts and Director of Sales - Pubs, Restaurants & RTM. On joining the business, Adcock commented: “Hallgarten & Novum Wines has always been a very well-respected business across the industry. When the opportunity presented itself to join such an esteemed wine distributor I was compelled to jump at the opportunity. The business feels like it is on the cusp of something extremely exciting, and I am delighted to have joined such at this time alongside a growing team of people and producers.”

Joining the business from French wine producer, Le Grands Chais de France, Charlotte Poole has taken up an Account Manager role in the Off Trade National Accounts team. Charlotte brings with her a wealth of experience to help grow Hallgarten’s presence in the major multiple retail sector, developing long-established relationships with the businesses’ existing customer base.

Luca Rowe joins Hallgarten as a regional Account Manager in the West of Scotland after six years with The Ivy Collection where he held roles including Group Head of Wine. Rowe commented: “Hallgarten presented a rare opportunity that I just couldn't pass up on. Beyond the exceptional wine portfolio, what really drew me into the company was the number of longstanding team members, which spoke volumes about the strength of the company culture.
