Luce Score Highly With Wine Spectator and James Suckling
It’s been a great week for Luce della Vite with two of its wines being awarded 90+ points; the Luce 2011 has won 95 points from Wine Spectator, while the Lucente 2012 was awarded 92 points by James Suckling.
Writing about the Luce 2011 Wine Spectator said: “Polished and complex, featuring ripe black cherry, plum, mint, vanilla, chocolate, leather and tobacco aromas and flavours. Dense and tannic, with concentrated sweet fruit for balance. Finishes long and harmonious. Merlot and Sangiovese. Best from 2017 through 2035.”
The Lucente 2012, meanwhile, also hit the spot. “Aromas of blackberries, minerals and fresh herbs. Full body, firm tannins and a savoury, juicy aftertaste. Hints of toasted oak. The second wine of Luce. Needs time to soften but delicious already. Better in 2016.”
These fantastic reviews follow a 98 point score from James Suckling for the Luce 2010, and 95 points from the same critic for the Luce Brunello di Montalcino 2008.
