Lismore’s Viognier Stars in WineMag’s Top 20 Wines of 2014

It’s the wine that keeps on giving, and certainly one of the most talked about wines in our portfolio over the past few months, and now Lismore’s Viognier 2012 has been named as one of South Africa’s outstanding wines of the year.

Featuring in the highly-respected WineMag.co.za’s annual end-of-year Top 20 Wines list, the Lismore Viognier 2012 is described as “the finest example of the variety to come out of South Africa so far.”

Tremendous praise, and an accolade that winemaker Samantha O’Keefe is thrilled with.

Starring alongside wines from Boekenhoutskloof, AA Badenhorst, Raats and Mullineux in the Top 20, it’s in very good company indeed.

Here’s the original WineMag review:

Lismore Viognier 2012
There’s peach and spice as you’d expect on the nose and palate but it’s the architecture of the wine which impresses. Thick but not oily or unctuous in texture, possessing a sort of creamy sweetness, with punchy acidity lending balance. Weightless intensity. 93/100
