Santo Isidro de Pégoes Claims IWSC Producer of the Year Trophy
On 15 November, wine and spirits luminaries joined some 450 international guests for the dinner and awards ceremony at the Guildhall.
Winners on the night included Santo Isidro de Pegões, which took home the Portuguese Wine Producer of the Year Trophy. Founded in 1958. The cooperative is made up of 140 winegrowers and has access to over 1100 hectares of vineyard located in the Terras do Sado area of the Setúbal peninsula.
The IWSC, founded nearly 50 years ago, is the oldest and most prestigious wine and spirits competition in the world. It is held in high esteem by the hundreds of drinks professionals - winemakers, distillers, master blenders, retailers and owners – who dined in the Guildhall until midnight and then continued the party into the small hours at the ultra-fashionable hotel The Ned.
