Hallgarten & Novum Wines Grows Team with 18 New Hires in 2025

Specialist wine importer, Hallgarten & Novum Wines, has further expanded its team in the first half of 2025, with 18 new team members joining the business in roles to support its growth objectives.

Hallgarten Wines has grown its team by close to 50% in the last 18 months, from just over 100 team members at the beginning of 2024 to almost 150 today, marking a considerable milestone in its expansion. These new appointments strengthen key departments, including Customer Services, Marketing, Brand Management, Logistics and Sales, all aimed at supporting Hallgarten’s strategic growth following its acquisition by Coterie Holdings in December 2023.

Hallgarten Wines Managing Director, Andrew Bewes, commented: “The past year and a half has been transformational for the business, as we have strived to achieve balanced, significant growth across all sectors, whilst improving our service to customers. We have invested in systems and people across the entire business, and we take great pride in being increasingly recognised as a company that people want to work for and want to do business with.”

“As we progress through 2025, our aim is to further reinforce our position as the go-to wine supplier for premium hospitality, independent wine merchants, retail and events. Recent accolades at The Drinks Business Awards 2025, Sommelier Wine Awards 2025, and Wine Merchant Top 100 serve to demonstrate our clear focus on providing our customers with an unparalleled range of wines, industry expertise and the best customer service possible. Our quest to attract the most talented people to Hallgarten underpins our commercial and strategic plans, and our absolute commitment to customers, both old and new.”

Obaro Agalabri, formerly of NielsenIQ, joins in the new role of Insights Manager, commenting: “I am excited to join Hallgarten and to have the opportunity to use data-led insight to support strategic growth, strengthen customer understanding, and help shape the future of our portfolio with real consumer relevance.”

Katie Bowden, formerly of Casella Family Brands, has been appointed Customer Marketing Manager, strengthening Hallgarten’s deep understanding of the market and its different sector dynamics, and providing customer-centric solutions. Elvis Muturi joins as Brand Coordinator, and Lauren Jones, Hallgarten’s third HeadStart Apprentice, joins as Junior Brand Manager, to support the demands of Hallgarten’s dynamic portfolio expansion.

In Sales, there have been several new appointments this year to Hallgarten’s National Accounts teams with the addition of Titus English and Tom Cartwright as National Accounts Executives for the On Trade. Andy Barker and Tom Curvis join Hallgarten as National Accounts Manager for the Off Trade. Hallgarten’s Business Development department is further strengthened with the addition of Paul Milne, formerly of Enotria & Coe, as Business Development Manager. In the regional sales teams, Dominic Hall and Pierre Woodford join as Account Managers covering Herts, Beds and Bucks, and the Cotswolds and West Country respectively.

George Randall joins from Lay and Wheeler as National Accounts Manager for the On Trade, commenting: “I have always admired Hallgarten within the trade, and it is hugely exciting to join at a time when there is such incredible momentum behind the whole company.”

Hallgarten has also promoted a number of its sales team internally, with Alex Oakshott promoted to National Accounts Manager, Tim Campbell-Gunn promoted to Key Account Manager for the Midlands, and Ross Dixie promoted to Business Development Manager for the South of England in 2025.

The Customer Services department has seen significant expansion, including six new hires with Tracey Morrison, Shaznay Latifah, Asiya Khanum, Naomi Harrison, and Emilie Darnell, to strengthen Hallgarten’s customer support functions. Luca Zammito joins as Commercial Finance Business Partner, and Paul Freeman joins the business in a key Supply Chain Planner role.

The recruitment drive is ongoing, and all available positions are advertised on the Hallgarten website.
