Hallgarten & Novum Wines Partners with Champagne Gosset

Specialist wine importer, Hallgarten & Novum Wines, has today announced a new strategic partnership with the oldest Wine House in Champagne: Champagne Gosset. Through the partnership, Hallgarten Wines becomes the exclusive distributor of Champagne Gosset’s entire portfolio to the UK hospitality and retail sectors, further positioning the business as the go-to wine supplier in the country.

With a heritage dating back to 1584, Épernay-based Champagne Gosset has long been admired for its uncompromising quality, complex cuvées, and dedication to traditional winemaking methods. With an ethos to create the finest wine possible before adding effervescence, this new alliance marks a significant chapter in the House’s growth and long-term commitment to the UK, one of its most important markets.

“We are delighted to begin this partnership with Hallgarten, a company whose values and expertise perfectly align with the spirit of Champagne Gosset,” said Jean-Pierre Cointreau, President of Champagne Gosset. “The UK is a historic and discerning market for fine Champagne, and we are confident that Hallgarten’s reach, knowledge, and reputation will enhance our ability to serve both the on- and off-trade communities, as well as private clients and collectors.”

Hallgarten & Novum Wines has built a reputation for curating an exceptional portfolio of wines from family-owned and artisanal producers. Their dedicated team of salespeople across the country will now represent the full Champagne Gosset range, including the celebrated Grande Réserve, Grand Rosé, Gosset Celebris vintages, and limited releases.

Jim Wilson, Portfolio Director at Hallgarten & Novum Wines commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Champagne Gosset into our growing portfolio, as we look to source the finest wine producers in each region for the UK market. Gosset’s philosophy, heritage and signature style offer something truly distinctive for our customers. Their reputation for creating a range of cuvées that speak from the cellar helps them to stand-out from the crowd. We look forward to building on the strong foundations of the brand in the market and bringing their remarkable cuvées to a wider audience.”

Gosset's commitment to excellence extends beyond its own legacy; the annual Trophée Gosset recognises individuals and institutions dedicated to preserving heritage, from culinary arts to broader cultural contributions, while ‘Gosset Matchmakers’ is a food and wine pairing competition for rising chefs and sommeliers in the UK. Sourcing primarily from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards, Head winemaker Odilon de Varine crafts Champagnes with remarkable depth, elegance, freshness and longevity that define its signature style.

Andrew Shaw, Coterie Group Wine Director, added: “Our partnership with Champagne Gosset perfectly illustrates Coterie Group’s unrivalled reach and capability across both trade and private client channels. Champagne Gosset will be distributed through Hallgarten Wines to hospitality, retail, and travel retail, available to luxury super-yacht clients through Global Wine Solutions, and available to Lay & Wheeler’s fine wine customers.

“It is a truly innovative and exciting opportunity we offer brands like Champagne Gosset, and we are looking forward to celebrating a highly successful partnership with the Cointreau family – and what better Champagne to celebrate with!”
