Ascot Racecourse extends relationship with Hallgarten & Novum Wines
Ascot Racecourse has announced that its contract with Specialist wine importer Hallgarten & Novum Wines has been extended for a further two years, lengthening its relationship with the racecourse until 2023. The deal will see Hallgarten continue as the sole still wine supplier for all 21 racedays, as well as Official Wine Supplier at Royal Ascot.
Hallgarten will continue to supply wines across all enclosures, bars and restaurants, with over 120 different wines represented throughout the racecourse.
With the all-encompassing partnership, Hallgarten’s three strong wine education team, led by Beverly Tabbron MW, will train all Ascot front of house team members on wine product knowledge and service, to maximize the guests’ experience.
The previous two years of partnership between Ascot Racecourse and Hallgarten has seen record breaking wine sales at Royal Ascot, with 82,000 bottles being sold over the five days in 2018 and a 16.4% increase in wine sales in 2019.
Juliet Slot, Chief Commercial Officer at Ascot Racecourse, said:
“We are delighted to continue our relationship with Hallgarten and Novum. With over 85 years’ experience importing wines from around the world, Hallgarten shares our values for tradition and sophistication. It has shown an innovative approach over the last two years and we are looking forward to seeing what the next two years bring.”
Hallgarten Managing Director, Andrew Bewes comments:
“We are extremely pleased that Ascot Racecourse has extended its relationship with us for another two years, allowing us to help further strengthen the hospitality offering at this iconic venue. Royal Ascot alone is one the most prestigious sporting events in the world, and we feel very privileged to be part of this. Over the next three years my team will be fully focused on delivering continued growth for the venue as they attract the finest chefs and operators to work alongside them.”
During the 2020 Royal Meeting, the team will be working closer than ever with the world-renowned Michelin-starred chefs and their sommeliers to curate wine lists bespoke to their food offering. Featuring more Michelin stars and recognised chef personalities than any other British sporting event, this year’s spectacle will have the most mouth-watering Royal Ascot chef line-up ever, holding 10 Michelin stars between them. The Ledbury’s two-Michelin star chef Brett Graham takes the helm of ON5 in the Queen Anne Enclosure while Raymond Blanc OBE returns to the Panoramic to play his pivotal role as Chef Ambassador. HIDE’s Ollie Dabbous returns to Royal Ascot for a second year to launch Holyroodhouse in the Royal Enclosure and Simon Rogan returns to the Royal Enclosure Gardens for a third year with his hugely successful pop-up.

“I am thoroughly delighted that our contract with Ascot Racecourse has been extended for two more years! Our partnership over the past two years has been a huge success and we are looking forward to working with the team at Ascot Racecourse in the years to come.”
