In A Nutshell: A brilliantly simple, stylish and refreshing summer aperitif. Enjoy straight-up chilled in a wine glass, or with equal parts tonic or soda water in a cocktail glass garnished with citrus fruit.
The Producer: More than 100 years old Barros Port is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious Port producers around. It’s famous for its Colheitas but makes impressive wines right across the board, including this seductive and fresh White Port.
The Wine: Made from Malvasia Fina, Rabigato, Verdelho and Viosinho, the grapes are hand harvested and fermented in stainless still at 16-18ºC until reaching the desired level of sweetness. The wine is then fortified with brandy and matured in stainless-steel and wood for a minimum of three years, resulting in a rich, aromatic wine with a balanced sweetness.
Tasting Note: Lively pale yellow colour with an upfront, perfumed nose dominated by fresh and floral aromas. Delicate and engaging on the palate with citrus, and nutty characters, combined with a long finish.
