WOTW: Château de Campuget ‘1753’ Rosé, 2015

In A Nutshell: Described by Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate as ‘classy’ with ‘notes of white flowers, rose petals and strawberry’, this fresh and juicy rosé is the perfect summer drink.

The Producer: Château de Campuget was established in 1942 and is a top quality estate near Nîmes with a long history. In its cellar, tradition and progress unite to create wines with aroma, finesse and bouquet from a wide range of traditional Rhone cépages.

The Wine: Vinified in the traditional manner, under temperature controlled conditions, the wine is made from the run-off juice of pressed Syrah and Vermentino grapes. This ‘saignée’ method preserves the freshness and aromatic purity of the wine. Beautifully packaged, incorporating a glass stopper closure.

Tasting Note: A classic rose petal colour, this elegant, dry rosé shows aromatic notes of grapefruit and delicate citrus hints, through to a refreshing palate of red berry fruits with a lifted finish.
