Hallgarten Portfolio

Title Underline

Hallgarten works with some of the finest family-run vineyards in the world. Producers who have challenged the status quo, carving out an enviable reputation on the global stage. Their wines always deliver on quality, providing stunning examples of wines from the world’s classic wine regions.

Discover some of the gems in the Hallgarten portfolio below:

Michele Chiarlo

Chiarlo is one of Piedmont’s truly great winemakers and without a doubt one of the most respected by his contemporaries. He has insisted on total quality since he started making wines in 1956, revolutionising many of the practices in the region.

Chiarlo was one of the first producers to introduce malolactic fermentation to Italy and soft presses, controlled temperature fermentation, maceration with rotating sprayers and temperature and humidity controlled cellars to Piedmont, all of which are now commonplace.

His dedication and work to improve the image of Barbera d’Asti has been second to none and their Barbera La Court is an icon of the region. Their wines are highly elegant and complex reflecting the great terroir of Piedmont’s greatest vineyards.

Feudi di San Gregorio

Feudi di San Gregorio was voted Best Italian Winery in 2013 by the Association of Italian Sommeliers.

Founded in 1986, Feudi has been one of the key protagonists in the renaissance of southern Italian wines. Much-admired for the attention to detail in everything they do from research to communications, they have carved out a reputation for making truly world-class wines in less than 30 years.

Gerard Bertrand

Gérard Betrand is one of the outstanding winemakers in the south of France. Named in 2012 the IWC Red Winemaker of the Year and Wine Enthusiast’s European Winery of the Year it's no surprise that he's one of the leading French names in the UK.

As charismatic a man as you’ll find in the wine trade he is a leader in the field of sustainable winemaking and biodynamic practices. The overall quality of the wines he produces is stunning; they demonstrate the diversity of the terroir of the Languedoc.

Saint Clair

Saint Clair is an outstanding, family-owned winery, established in 1994 by owners and viticultural pioneers, Neal and Judy Ibbotson. With the help and experience of one of New Zealand’s leading winemaking teams lead by Matt Thomson, the family have identified the very best vineyards for growing top quality Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Merlot.

Their dedication and commitment to creating world-class wines has resulted in over 110 trophies in the last 11 years.

Berton Vineyard

Berton firmly believe that winemaking is as much about people as it is about practices. Bob Berton and his team are still young enough to be awed by the tradition but are also able to feel the need to challenge themselves by testing the boundaries of winemaking.

Berton’s impressive portfolio of wines are produced in a contemporary winery with an emphasis on all that is casual, friendly and approachable in wine. With the combination of modern technology and techniques of years gone by, Berton Vineyards is quietly making its mark on the wine world.

Doña Paula

Doña Paula’s innovative spirit has led them to the forefront of Argentinean winemaking in a short space of time. Their quest to find the best growing areas in Argentina has led them on a path of experimentation to harness the best soils, climates and altitudes the country has to offer.

Their winemakers are free to experiment, creating wines that offer a unique style, crafted with passion and meticulous attention to detail; a philosophy that has led them to be a benchmark in Argentinean quality.
