Champagne House Lelarge-Pugeot Launches Champagne for HRH The Prince of Wales' 70th birthday
Grower Champagne house Lelarge-Pugeot, has been selected to supply a bespoke Champagne under the Highgrove Brut Vintage Champagne 2013 label in celebration of HRH The Prince of Wales' 70th birthday on November 14th, available exclusively through Fortnum & Mason and Highgrove.
Supplied through Hallgarten & Novum Wines, this Premier Cru Champagne is made from 100% organic Pinot Meunier grapes, which flourish in Lelarge Pugeot’s north east facing vineyards. Fortnum’s wine buyer Jamie Waugh buying on behalf of Highgrove comments; “After a rigorous selection process we are delighted to have chosen Champagne Lelarge-Pugeot as the producer to mark such a significant event in the royal calendar. It is the clear and unanimous winner from a blind tasting of 12 vintage grower champagnes.”
The Lelarge family has been making wine since 1789 and Champagne since 1930 and today the estate is headed up by seventh generation Dominique Lelarge, along with his wife Dominique Pugeot and their children, Clémence and Valentin.
