Parker Points Galore For Michele Chiarlo, Including 95 for Barolo Cerequio 2010
A trio of Michele Chiarlo Barolos have received 90+ points from Robert Parker on his website www.erobertparker.com, with the Barolo Cerequio scoring a magnificent 95 points.
These are the latest in a long list of accolades for the Piedmont producer famous for its Barberas and Barolos.
The 2010 Michele Chiarlo Barolo Cerequio “already shows an impressive level of complexity and balance that bodes well for its longevity. Small berry fruit, white truffle, hazelnut, crushed granite and balsam herb find seamless integration.”
The 93-point scoring 2010 Barolo Cannubi, meanwhile, “shows great intensity on the bouquet and less momentum in the mouth. The nose is redolent of ripe cherry and forest fruit with leather, rosemary and autumnal leaf. What it lacks in heft, it makes up for in length.”
Finally, the Barolo Tortoniano 2010 “shows an impressive level of fruit boldness and extraction. Although the style is plush and -modern- on the Barolo continuum, Tortoniano is a seamless expression with supple tannins and fresh acidity that meld into one beautiful whole.” 92 points.
